There are many different districts in Chicago, and there are many things to consider before getting Chicago retail space. Here, then, is our list of the best neighborhoods in Chicago, and we hope you consider these before leasing retail space:
- Edgewater: Located on Chicago’s gorgeous north side, Edgewater boasts incomparable views of Lake Michigan, a bustling and diverse community (this is one of the most gay-friendly districts of Chicago), and easy access to downtown Chicago courtesy of the Red Line.
- Hyde Park: this neighborhood is on Chicago’s south side, and is home to the University of Chicago. You simply cannot get bored in Hyde Park: there are museums, theatres, and parks in excess to choose from. Best of all, restaurants are starting to crop up in many places, offering more dining choices than ever before.
- Portage Park: head on over to the west side for this hidden Chicago gem, which is a historically Polish neighborhood packed with large bungalows. This spate of large homes and Class 1 schools makes it a perfect district for first-time home buyers with families, with more incentives than ever before.
- North Center: finally, we head back to the north side for North Center, which used to be a hipster enclave (but has since matured into a more mainstream neighborhood). Be sure to check out the shopping districts on Damen and Western Avenues.
